We also set up several boards around the room. ... Another has "Great plots in three sentences or less," where people write their ideas for a novel. (There were some really great ones, actually, and I think one of mine got ripped off for a tv pilot this season!) We also have a communal story (featuring ninjas, natch) on another board.
