Why NaNoWriMo:Israel Wiki: Although there are lots of online writers forums (check out the reviews of our participants) I thought having a "local" sign post with reviews of the many online resources written by "local" aspiring writers might be an important contribution to the NaNoWriMo experience.

What do you write? As an IT professional I wrote endless technical and business documents, proposals, reports, manuals etc. In the past 15 years I've written a great deal of personal anecdotes and "hasbara" material. It wasn't until the 2006 NaNoWriMo when I was stumped as to what to write that I said "What the heck" and tried my hand - for the first time in my life at writing fiction.

So what happened? The first attempt at a full lengtyh work of fiction, tentatively titled "The Legacy" is awaiting a complete rewrite. I've learn so much about the craft and art of writing over the past thirteen months that I can't see any way out of anything short of such a drastic measure.

The next year (2007) I used the NaNoWriMo to pull out the kernel of another novel, this one far more readable, even though it will sdtill experience at least two rewrites before an editor touches it. Its working title is "White Sands".
